The Land of Corra
The seacliff city of Nïmdum is a large and prospering port capable of catering to any size ship. It is the only such port in Walgrim’s Cliffs, the homeland of the Seacliff Dwarves. The city sits at the western base of the peninsula that forms the borders of the Seacliff empire, bordering the country of Tusmit.
Nïmdum is under direct governance by heirs to the Seacliff throne, a family known as the Nïmdum Foambeards. As per ageless tradition, the sons and daughters of the Seacliff King must prove their ability to rule by governing this, the most important port in all the kingdom. Although the head of the Nïmdum Foambeards makes all executive decisions, the family unit as a whole plays a major role in determining policies and laws of the city. Even so, the city must pay homage to her King, Keldon Foambeard, who ruling from his seat in Kerallasrath, reserves the right to veto any decision made or any law passed. This rarely happens, however. The Foambeards are a loyal family, well trusted by their father and King. Little, if any, treachery has transpired within the ruling class of Walgrim’s Cliffs for hundreds of years.
Nïmdum is famous for it’s hospitality toward sailors, and anyone else in the nautical industry for that matter. It is said that a hundred ships dock at her port every day, so it is easy to see why her businesses place so much value in accommodation. In addition, Nïmdum is well known for her salt mines, which in conjunction with the mines in Kerallasrath, produce more than 70% of Corra’s supply. Nïmdum is also renowned for her shipwrights, who have built some of the finest vessels ever to sail Corra’s turbulent seas.
