The Land of Corra
The town of Eaglesport is a minor port on the south coast of Drodund, south of Kattinborough. It is one of the furthest reaches of the Drodund Kingdom, and as such, it is not policed by the kingdom’s regular guard. In these cases, a member of minor royalty is assigned to police the area, a position known as Duke Protectorate. The Duke Protectorate of Eaglesport is Duke Gregorick Jacob Hallum III, a nephew of the king by marriage. His fort is located on the outskirts of Eaglesport, but he is rarely seen with in the town.
Eaglesport does decent business as a port, importing chiefly stone, tobacco, and textiles, and exporting spell components, livestock, and ale. The port is the main source of the town’s income, far overshadowing the middling market and tax income. The market does well enough business for a town of Eaglesport’s size, but has a less than desirable image due to a small district of ill repute known as The Backlot. In this poorly lit alleyway on the edge of town, all manner of seedy people conduct covert business. Deals of illicit substances, murders, and worse are all too common here, and the place is avoided at all cost by the decent people of Eaglesport.
In recent history, Eaglesport found itself under the thumb of an oppressive thug known as Wexley. Wexley and his men, who called themselves Wexley’s Gang, wore red to identify themselves to each other and the common folk. They were responsible for a number of murders, brazen daylight robberies, more than one kidnapping, and countless assaults. Wexley was not a foolish leader, and kept fast control of the town for several years, keeping the common people in a state of terror. Until finally, a crew of sailors passing through found themselves in contention with Wexley’s gang. They took Wexley and his men head on, and survived the challenge, killing Wexley, his 2nd in command, Ferrik, and about 80% of his gang. The ones responsible for the freedom of Eaglesport are Krömm Thanek, Aldo Lightfoot, Yurm the flind, and Norvi “Skullcrusher” Hammerstone
