The Land of Corra
Bugbear of staggering size and right hand of Wexley
Ferrik is a bugbear, and bugbears are big, brutal, and cunning. But unlike most bugbears that reach a height of around 7 feet, Ferrik stands at a staggering 8’ 6”. He may also be smarter than the average bugbear, but that remains to be seen.
Ferrik was the second in command of Wexley’s Gang. None of the then current members knew when he joined, where he came from, or how he reached his status, but no one brings it up either. As Wexley’s leiutenant, he was often seen speaking in low tones with the boss in the corner of the room. Ferrik did the dirtiest of Wexley’s laundry, such as hunting down former members that had become snitches or runaways. His impressive size had made him legend in the community of Eaglesport, where his presence was tolerated out of fear more than anything. Ferrik died at the hands of a seafaring party of adventurers who decided to liberate Eaglesport on their way through.
Ferrik was born in Entruag to a low class clan. He was the runt of his family, and was abandoned in the wilderness when he was 4 years old. The forests of Enruag are notoriously unforgiving, and Ferrik stay there was no exception. When he was 4, he fought and killed a wolf with his bare hands. At 6, he was leading a band of goblins on local raids. By 10 he was leading assaults into Shen Calen backed by an army of goblins and hobgoblins. These attacks on the elven empire were largely successful, and Ferrik’s leadership is solely responsible for widening Entrug’s borders to where they now lay.
By the age of 16, Ferrik was an Entruag superpower. He had legions of able goblins, hobgoblins, and bugbears at his command. He was much less active on the battlefield, as he had been pushed into the roles of administration and strategy. This didn’t sit well with him, and he grew more and more anxious with each day that passed without blood spilled. Elven attacks were increasing, and he was beginning to lose the territory for which he fought so hard. He had a sort of breakdown and decided that this was not his calling. He appointed a long-time friend to command his men and he used some connections to leave Entruag. He traveled to Gresden and made his way into the Border Mountains where he survived alone for many months.
